Mental Health Month Breakfast: Mental Health and Autism in Focus brings people together to examine a real and growing gap in support.

Autistic people experiencing mental ill health are often caught between services built for one or the other. Mental health supports can miss the autism context, while autism supports can miss the distress someone is experiencing. That gap matters, and the sector is starting to name it clearly.

Richmind WA is bringing the people together to extend the focus.

Over one morning, people who know this ground well will explore an area of growing need: representatives from Curtin University, Autism WA and Cyrenian House, alongside a person with lived experience who can speak to what the gap feels like from the inside.

This is a conversation the whole sector has a stake in, and no single organisation holds the answer. That is why we are in the room together. It takes courage to name the gap and confront what it will take to close it.

Whether this is your field, part of your work, or simply something you want to understand more deeply, you are welcome at the table.
