Debra Lampshire- Internationally Renowned Authority on Hearing Voices
Debra Lampshire is a trailblazer in New Zealand’s mental health sector, renowned for her advocacy and support for individuals experiencing auditory hallucinations. With three decades of experience in mental health care — 18 of which were spent in institutional settings — Debra has leveraged her own recovery journey to educate and advocate for others within national and international mental health services.
As a leading figure and mentor in the lived experience and clinical movements in New Zealand, Debra served as the Project Manager for the Psychological Interventions for Enduring Mental Illness Project at Auckland District Health Board (ADHB), making history as the first non-clinician to hold this role. Her extensive personal and professional experience offer invaluable insights that are both informative and inspiring.
