Bassendean is a community based, home-like environment that offers long-term accommodation for individuals with severe and persistent mental distress. Our aim to provide a safe and supportive environment for people to live in whilst participating in a recovery focussed program designed to assist individuals in their personal journey. The time frame for stay at Bassendean is flexible to individual needs, with some people staying up to a few years before transitioning into independent living. The site is staffed 24/7, with the three residential units each housing four people of all genders in single bedrooms with communal living areas and a shared bathroom.
Bunbury and Busselton
The CSRU (Community Supported Residential Units) has a recovery based program, that recognizes and respects the uniqueness of each individual and works collaboratively with them to identify and build their strengths and establish meaningful goals. The support is holistic and person centred. The length of stay is not limited, however, individuals are supported towards mental health recovery and independent living. Bunbury is a 15 bed service and Busselton a 10 bed service where support staff are available on site at all times, 7 days a week.
Community Options in Kelmscott is an eight bed service which provides a long term, recovery based residential support following long term hospitalisation. The service provides person centred support staff 24 hours a day, seven days a week for people with severe and persistent mental distress. We work closely with the local public mental health services to provide ongoing clinical support. Each resident will have a dedicated key worker to work on their personal recovery plan, as well as access to recovery based groups and activities which will provide opportunities to develop living skills, participate in community and social activities and access support and information.
