With the unfolding situation relating to Coronavirus (COVID-19) in Australia and across the world, please find an update on the measures Richmond Wellbeing is taking to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our residents, consumers and workforce.
Richmond Wellbeing has set the highest standard of precaution for the safety and wellbeing of all service users, their significant others and our workforce. The organization has convened a response team and they are working diligently to be prepared. We continue to respond to advice from the Department of Health and will continue to provide updated advice to our service users as appropriate.
Should a confirmed case of Coronavirus (COVID-19) be identified, we have a comprehensive plan in place to respond and protect people living, working and visiting our services. However, we need your assistance to make this happen by joining us in monitoring safety on site. We can work together to decrease the risk of infection by letting us know if:
- You or your family have recently travelled overseas
- You or your family are experiencing any flu-like symptoms, or
- You have been in contact with anyone who is confirmed to have Coronavirus (COVID-19).
Additionally, all Richmond Wellbeing sites have enacted a greater emphasis on hygiene, particularly in relation to washing hands and coughing/sneezing into a tissue or covering coughs/sneezes with elbows and not hands. You will notice signage around the Richmond Wellbeing sites guiding you on how best to protect yourself by effectively washing your hands and engaging in cough/sneeze etiquette.
Richmond Wellbeing also recommends that people should avoid handshaking and hugging. For those living within the Richmond Wellbeing services, you may also notice some changes in the coming weeks to the group recovery program.
If you have any concerns or queries please call us at (08) 9350 8800.
We will continue to provide ongoing updates.
